Hello doctor! I recently had a ct scan for my nose.. The results displayed the following.. Deviation of the nasal septum towards left side with a bony spur. Polypoidal mucosal thickening involving bi lateral ethmoid sinuses. Polypoidal mucosal thickening involving bi lateral maxillary sinuses with partial infundibulum on the left side and patent osteometeal complex on the right side. Polypoidal mucosal thickening involving sphenoid sinuses with obliteration of sphenoethmoid recess on both sides. Right concha bullosa noted showing mucosal thickening. I don t have any headaches, dizziness, lack of sleep etc. Only problem is a running nose that occurs during morning when I wake up.. Around 3 times I get sick for fever in a year.. I am 21 years old and a female.. Can t this be treated with medicines? Is it a very serious issue? Please let me know regarding this..
The CT scan report suggestive of sinusitis. As a first line management you can proceed with antibiotics and supportive measures. You can take antihistamines like Cetirizine for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist you might require surgical correction.
