What Does The Following CT Scan Report Suggest?
Good day! I would like to ask if it s safe to fly with this ear condition:(Ct Scan) Thickened, retracted left tympanic membrane with small focal defect-suspicious perforation.Small foci of soft tissue density in left middle ear cavity, involving epitympanum, mesotympanum-suggestive of left otitis media with suspicuious granulation/inflammatory debris.Extensive soft tissue density involving aditus , mastoid antrum, mastoid air cells-left mastoiditis.The soft tissue density in mastoid air cells shows focal areas of resorption of the intervening septae. With a retracted tympanic membrane I would advise not. The final decision will be by your ENT surgeon but the pressure inside the ear varies considerably in the air.
