What Does The Following CT Scan Report Suggest?

I have enlarged tonsils with bilateral deep cervical lymphodenopathy and been suffering of neck and shoulder and upper maxillary pain for a year and pain all over my head and ears that never goes away and also I feel my head is so heavy with sounds of like the skull is breaking and extracted all my teeth starting from wisdom molars and I made endoscopy and they said there is an adenoid at the nasopharynx wall but when I made a nose CT these are the results: 1. Polypoidal mucosal thickening is seen involving left and to less extent right maxillary sinuses encroaching on their alveolar recesses. 2. Mild ethmoidal sinus mucosal thickening is also noted. 3. Otherwise, no other paranasal sinuses abnormality could be detected with preserved bony outline and osteomeatal complexes. 4. S shaped deviated nasal septum is also seen. 5. The nasopharynx looks normal.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The CT scan shows the presence of thickened mucosa of sinuses suggesting chronic sinusitis.

Presence of deviated nasal septum may be the cause of chronic sinusitis.

Correction of the deviated nasal septum may help to relieve symptoms of chronic sinusitis. I suggest you consult your ENT specialist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
