What Does The Following ECG Report Suggest?

What does this mean?

The patient received intravenous injection of 12 and 30 millicuries of technetium 99m sestamibi for the rest and stress portion of the exam, respectively. SPECT images obtained of the heart in three projections for rest and stress. The patient also received intravenous injection of 0.4 mg of Lexiscan.

End diastolic diameter of the left ventricle measures 129 ml with end systolic volume of 52 ml and ejection fraction of 60%. Cardiac output measures 5.3 liters per minute.

There is GI uptake noted as well as some mild motion seen during the exam. There is fairly homogeneous uptake of tracer throughout the myocardium. There is suggestion of a small defect in the inferolateral wall which measures 11% of the myocardium or 16 grams. This is seen on the stress images and appears to fill in on the delayed images. Again, there is some motion artifact present. I cannot entirely exclude that this is not technical.

IMPRESSION:
1. Equivocal small area of ischemia inferolateral wall as discussed above with left ventricular dilatation and normal ejection fraction measuring 60%.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

This report shows that a small area of heart muscle is receiving reduced blood supply, which is able to care care of it self in rest but hungers for more blood when exercising. moreover the other changes described are simply seen in hypertensive patients. You should undergo coronary angiography to assess any arterial disease.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
