What Does The Following MRI Of The Ankle Indicate?
Had an mri on my right ankle right knee Findings: right ankle Marrow edema of the lateral malleolus Need xray to rule out occult fracture Retrocalcaneal bursitis Talocalcaneal joint effusion Right knee: Amputation posterior horn medial meniscus Interosseous ganglion cyst involving the lateral tibial plateau Chondromalacia patellae Suprapatellar effusion Popliteal cyst What does all this mean ?? Thank you
As history indicates that the MRI shows there is a change in the biomechanics of the joints at the ankle and the knee along with ligament injuries. The first thing to do is to stabilize the knee and ankle joint using compression bandages and also using hot water fermentation to relax the muscles surrounding it.
Then static hamstring, static quadriceps, ankle toe movement's, straight leg raise and balance board training to correct the muscle imbalance and improve the joint stability.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
