What Does The Following MRI Report Indicate?

Sir Please review my MRI Report Patient age=19 MRI LUMBOSACRAL SPINE MR imaging of the lumbo sacral spine was performed and high-resolution T1-and T2-weighted serial sections obtained in the sagittal and axial planes with fat suppressed T2W sagittal images also obtained using a phased-Array surface coil on a 1.5 Tesla scanner. The study reveals straightening of the lumbar lordotic curvature. Vertebral bodies are otherwise normal in size, shape, alignment and signal intensity. Degenerative disc desiccation is noted at multiple levels. There is diffuse disc bulge at L2-L3 level indenting the thecal sac. There is diffuse disc bulge at L4-L5 level indenting the thecal sac. No significant disc bulge/protrusion is noted at any other level. Primary bony canal is adequate with no evidence of stenosis. Lower dorsal cord and conus medullaris are normal. Thecal sac shows a normal CSF signal intensity. No significant intraspinal mass or pre/paravertebral collection is seen. OPINION:- MR FINDINGS ARE SUGGESTIVE OF DIFFUSE DISC BULGE AT L2-L3 LEVEL, ยท DIFFUSE DISC BULGE AT L4-L5 LEVEL,

Hello

MRI findings indicate degenerative changes in lumbo-sacral spine.
Degenerative changes are age related findings. It is due to chronic stress on annulus fibrosis.Findings are early in your case.

There is straightening of lumbar spine,it may be due to muscle spasm.
There is also loss of water from intervertebral disc at multiple levels.

At L4-5 and L2-3 level, there is diffuse disc bulge which is indenting thecal sac.
Vertebral bodies are normal.
Spinal canal and spinal cord are also normal.

Majority of degenerative disc disease patients are benefited by conservative treatment in the form of physiotherapy, analgesics and muscle relaxants.
Surgery should be the last option.

Since you have mild findings,so you may only need conservative treatment.

Treatment can be planned after consultation with neurologist.

Get well soon.
Take Care
