What Does The Following MRI Report Indicate?

I had an MRI done they finding I did have fusion c4-5 and c5-6 it showed no central stenosis at these levels their is mild to moderate narrowing of the right for amen at C5-6 by osteophytes formation at the uncovertebral joint. Also is moderate narrowing of the central canal at C6-7 by discussed by complex results . Results in somewhat prominent encroachment on the left neural foramen. I was wondering what will be done if anything to correct this ? My fusion was done 12/14 Kim

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

That MRI report speaks of arthritic changes in levels other then the fused one, namely C6-7. It is not surprising since changes in the spine are usually diffuse and the fusion you had at the upper levels has decreased mobility and increased the load on the lower levels, potentially speeding up their degeneration.
So these changes are in the form of osteophytes, bony spurs, which narrow the right foramen, the canal where the nerve root exits. It narrows the spinal canal as well but the report doesn't mention the spinal cord being compressed.
As for what needs to be done that depends on the symptoms. Unless it causes nerve root compression with intense pain which does not improve by analgesics in time then not much needs to be done, only physical therapy. Otherwise surgery to remove these osteophytes may be considered.

I hope to have been of help.
