Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Findings: No evidence for diffusion restriction to suggest acute ischemia. Midline structures not displaced. There is slight volume loss. Basilar cisterns grossly preserved. A few tiny scattered T2/FLAIR hyperintensities are present within the periventricular and subcortical white matter. These findings may suggest sequelae of chronic microvascular ischemia. No definite abnormal extra axial fluid collections are demonstrated. The visualized flow voids appear grossly patent by T2 criteria. Small mucous retention cyst or polyp noted within the visualized right maxillary sinus. Mild mucosal thickening noted within the visualized left maxillary sinus. The visualized soft tissues and osseous structures demonstrate no definite acute abnormality. Impression: Slight volume loss. Other findings as noted above. ____________________________________
According to the report, the general findings suggest that the changes are likely related to problems that have been ongoing for a long period of time (chronic) not related to acute (recent onset) issues. Over a long period of time, there was reduced blood flow to the brain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
