Hi.
Noted the
MRI report, but since you have not mentioned about the symptoms it is difficult to correlate clinically which is the most important part of any diagnosis and management.
We, the MRI report says that there is "paracentral'
disc protrusion at C-5/6 level with effacement of left ventral subarachnoid space and
deformity of left ventral aspect of
spinal cord.
The disc between the cervical vertebra called ''C'' numbering 5 and 6 is out of place so that it is compressing upon the cervical spinal cord.
Paracentral means not in the central portion but the side portion and more so on the left side.
Effacement means touching and also compressing on the left front portion of the spinal cord.
This must be causing the symptoms like pain or so and/or muscular problems by the nerves supplying that particular area.
Your Neurosurgeon will examine you, correlate the MRI findings with clinical examination and decide whether to go for medicines,
Physiotherapy or Surgery also.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
