Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
In my MRI report it states there is a stable minimal periventricular and subcortical regions of T@/FLAIR hyperintensities , non specific but likely related to minimal chronic microvascular ischemic changes. What does that mean for me and my future health. Thank you
Any report has to be correlated with the symptoms of the patient, but still with this minimal information, I can comment that the narrated changes of subcortical and periventricular areas of the brain are due to previous ischemic insult to the cerebral circulation, which can be from high BP or else.
If there are no current symptoms, patient's hemodynamics in particularly BP is well controlled, one should be in regular follow up with his or her consultant.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
General & Family Physician
