Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi there I am trying to understand the results of my MRI Sagittal sequences demonstrate mild straightening of the mid cervical spine. A few residual soft tissue, odontoid and bony spinal canal appears intact. Cervical medullary junction of the cord, cord signal and morphology is unremarkable. No disc abnormality seen at C2-C3 no exiting nerve root compromise or spinal stenosis C3-C4: A Cypher mild dehydration, no disc abnormality. No spinal stenosis or exiting nerve root compromise C3-C4: There is a trivial bulge minimally effacing the ventrolateral thecal sac. No neuroforaminal compromise or spinal stenosis C5-C6: There is dehydration of intervertebral disc. A subtle dorsal central protrusion is present indenting upon the ventral thecal sac without spinal stenosis. No neuroforaminal compromise C6-C7: No evidence of abnormality of the sella. No spinal stenosis or exiting nerve root compromise C7-T1: Unremarkable disc space -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Impression: IMPRESSION: Mild straightening of the midcervical spine. Small central protrusion at C5-C6 without spinal stenosis or exiting nerve root compromise. Dehydration of discs at C3-C4, C4-C5 with trivial bulging at C4-C5. No spinal stenosis exiting nerve root compromise cervical spine. Electronically signed by Sam Choi on 6/17/2015 2:08 PM
There is evidence of PIVD i.e Protruded inter-vertebral discs where there is disc bulging causing narrowing of spinal canal and putting pressure on the nerves arising from spinal cord. This causes severe back pain and radicular pain in legs.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
