Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son did MRI and here is the Observations: Moderate prominence of the lateral and 3rd ventricle is seen without periventricular ooze. Aqueduct is stenosed . Fourth ventricle is normal in size. Prominent cistern magna is seen. Rest of the supra and infratentorial parenchyma is unremarkable. Bilateral hippocampi are normal in morphology and signal intensity. Rest sulci and cisterns are normal in size. The Intracranial vessels and dural sinuses display the expected flow void. The craniovertebral junction is unremarkable. No midline shift is seen.
The MRI report shows that the aqueduct or the duct connecting the lateral ventricles and third ventricle is blocked. Due to blockage, there is the prominence of lateral and third ventricles. The obstruction needs to be relieved since this can lead to increased intracranial pressure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
