Recent MRI of abdomen and pelvis (+/- contrast) shows enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes - largest 2.4x1.8 cm. Enlarged mesenteric/aortacaval LN 2.0 cm and enlarged left periaortic LN 1.7cm. No symptoms; organ survey of abdomino-pelvic organs normal. Normal blood chemistries. Colonoscopy 1.5 years ago. History of mesenteric and retroperitoneal LNs since 2007 - stable, last prior scan 2012. Reason for MRI were liver hemangioma (stable) and multicystic kidneys (stable). Areas difficult to get to by CT-guided needle biopsy. Again, totally asymptomatic
MRI finding suggests multiple enlarged mesenteric and aorto-caval(region in between aorta and IVC)lymph nodes. Lymph nodes may be enlarged to many causes like infection, inflammation, tumour, non specific causes. These lymph nodes are stable in nature means it is not increased in size. This is a good sign.
Findings also suggests multiple cysts in kidneys. Mostly simple renal cysts are asymptomatic and it is an incidental finding. It may cause symptoms if there is increase in size or infection inside the cyst. These renal cysts are also stable in nature.
There is also liverhemangioma. These are benign lesions and generally doesn't require any treatment. This is also stable.
