Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
a family member has a dramatic change in her movement starting from feet working up now affecting her standing . Any movement caused pain in her hips. She got an MRI a few weeks ago which showed multiple lesions throughout her bones and a tumor o her right lower thoracic area outside her lung..egg size. we brought her to her nearest hospital for additional tests which we felt due to the dramatic progression of her symptoms. They did a bone marrow, ct of the spine that showed some compression fracture. She was put in dilaudid and gamapenti and started on PT with success since her pai was managed. These tests were ordered for her but weeks away. We felt this was more urgent due to her symptoms. I have suggested to her to get a consult/2nd opinion from a specialist in hematolgy. Could I get a list of these specialists so I can do research on finding a good fit for her?
The picture you have described suggest a multifocal pathology like secondaries or haematological disorder. For verification, I would strongly suggest an opinion by a haematologist. Kindly consult one ASAP.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care

Dr Gopal Goel, Orthopaedic Surgeon
