Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 67years old. In my usg report it is noted that my right kidney is normal size. Gross calyectasis with thinned out vortex noted,Rim of calcification noted at periphery. Dilated calyces are paker with homogenous internal echogenic substances. One large staghorn calculus is impacted on pelvis, causing calyectasis. No SOL is seen.
a staghorn calculus is the largest stone in kidney that grows into the calyces. it requires surgical removal since it causes obstruction. the other changes noted in your report are possibly due to obstruction of urine flow from the kidney with stone.
