What Does The Following X-ray Of The Knee Suggest?
I had an X-ray on my left knee. This is what was found. Prominent enthesophyte at the anteroinferior margin of the patella. Small spur at the posterior surface of the patella Fabella. Sharpening of the tibial spines. Minimal hypertrophic change at the intercondylar notch medially. Spur formation at the anterior tibial tubercle. No meniscal calcification. No free joint body. Smooth articular surfaces.
The changes narrated are suggestive of early case of degenerative joint disorder most likely. However, it is best recommended to provide your X-ray plates, details of symptoms at current time for best framing and co relation with the clinical perspectives to handle further.
* Time being approach for primary relief would be: - Heating pad application 3 times a day, 5 minutes each - Local capsaicin crem use - Anti inflammatory medicine as ibuprofen with paracetamol - Avoiding sudden jerking movements of legs - Control of body weight if obese - Control of blood sugar and cholesterol
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
