My fathers chest x ray is coming back blunting of the right costophrenic sulcus with mild elevation hem and then the paper is cut off.. Then is says either representing a small pleural effusion or something but again that side of the paper is cut off?? Could this be cancer or something serious??
1.The most common cause of the blunting of the CP angle in a x-ray is due to the pleural effusion. 2.It can be due to the cardiac cause like hypertensive or congestive cardiac diseases. 3.The other possibilities can be lung and pleural pathology itself. There is possibilities to have a mass lesion collapse consolidation - but of rare compare to the effusion. 4.If there is underlying medical conditions like chronic diseases - treat the source and followed by the actual collection. 5.It can also be the tubercular pathology - an pleural diagnostic taping will be helpful to evaluate the nature of the effusion.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
