Welcome to health care magic.

1.The most common cause of the blunting of the CP angle in a x-ray is due to the pleural effusion.
2.It can be due to the cardiac cause like hypertensive or congestive cardiac diseases.
3.The other possibilities can be lung and pleural pathology itself. There is possibilities to have a mass lesion collapse consolidation - but of rare compare to the effusion.
4.If there is underlying medical conditions like chronic diseases - treat the source and followed by the actual collection.
5.It can also be the tubercular pathology - an pleural diagnostic taping will be helpful to evaluate the nature of the effusion.

Good luck.
