Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
good evening doctor im am a 45yr old male i today discover this report from an x-ray L/S Spine , 3 views; the bone density appears normal. There is loss of the normal lordotic curve with restrolesthesis of the L4-L5 vertebral body. Mild OA changes and disc disease are noted.no lytic or sclecrotic bone lesion and no fracture or dislocationis seen . Mild facet joint arthropathy is present. the vertebral body heights are preserved there is loss of disc height at L4-L5. L5-SI. Impression: 1. Grade 1 retrolesthesis of the L4-L5. 2. OA of the L/S Spine , disc prolapsed is not ruled out
The report says that there is osteoarthritis (degeneration of bone at joint surface) over lower vertebra with secondary loss of normal curvature of lower spine. Loss of curvature is common in osteoarthritis there. A bulge of disc (another common contributor to low back ache) cannot be seen in an X-ray, and needs an MRI. The significance of this findings depends on your symptoms, and your doctor will discuss in detail.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
