Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a x-ray of my knee, the report said there are degenerative changes with osteophyte formation involving all 3 compartments. Well-corticated bony densities project over the femoral tibial joint posteriorly. These may represent loose bodies. There is a large size joint effusion. No acute fracture is seen. What does that mean is plain talk.
Hi. It means you have signs of osteo arthritis (degeneration of the joint cartilage). The large effusion is fluid in the joint which is possibly inflammation or bleeding in the joint. With the possible loose bodies, you need to be seen by an orthopedic surgeon for further management. Hope that answers your question.
