What Does The Following X Ray Result Indicate?

hi.im 2x xray, the result is same. There are confluent densities with cystic lucency seen in the the left lower lung. Heart is not inlarged.Diaphragm and the rest of the visualization thoracic xtructures are unremarkable.Remarks:PNEUMONIA VERSUS PTB, LEFT LOWER LOBE. But my doctor advice me to sputum test.i finish my 7 daysantibiotics.please give me some tips home medication..and its true that its helpful to take me a TURMERIC TEA. Please help me..thank you

Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Opacity in left lower zone with suspect of pneumonia vs pulmonary tuberculosis will need further workup.
As your doctor has rightly asked for sputum examination which will show whether causative agent is tuberculous or some other bacteria causing pneumonia so its important to get sputum examination done to get the right diagnosis.
Both are infective causes that means there is bacterial invasion that has caused this condition.
Having turmeric tea or milk will only give you relief from congestion and producing more cough thus making you feel better but this is not the treatment.
To treat any infection, the main treatment is antibiotics only.
If its just pneumonia it will need a 7 days antibiotics course but if its TB then you may need 6 month treatment regimen.
