What Does The Following Bacterial Culture Result Indicate?
Hello A friend of mine had a routine bacterial culture taken from a pimple, bump, lesion, whatever it is by his mustache, and he got the results back, this is what it reads; light growth mixed skin flora isolated. Now I tried looking this up on the Internet but I just don t understand what it means. I hope that you can explain this to me in a way that I can understand, and then explain it to my friend. Light growth of mixed skin flora in culture means the infection is caused by normal bacteria found on skin. It doesn't specify a particular type of becteria infecting in the lesion.
Hence, the condition needs to delt with regular course of broad spectrum antibiotic and care of lesion by applying antiseptic cream or solution.
