What Does The Following Blood Test Mean?

I got my blood test results as follows please make me understand it and tell me if there s anything I should take seriously about it. Thank you Hemoglobin: 10.1gm/dl Hematocrit: 31.1% RBCs 4.90mill/cmm Red cell indices: MCV: 63.8fL MCH: 20.6pg MCHC: 32.3gm/dl RDW: 17.9 Total leukocytic count: 4600/cmm Differential count: Basophils: 0% Eosinophils: 3% Staff: 3% Segmented: 48% Lymphocytes: 42% Monocytes: 4% Platelet count: 246000/cmm Test comment: Mild microcytic hypochromic anaemia RBCs anisopoikilocytosis Iron profile is highly recommended

Thanks for your question. In my opinion you are suffering from iron deficiency anaemia (IDA). The points which are favouring in your report are
1. Low Hb
2. Low MCV, MCH and MCHC
3. High RDW
4. Microcytic hypochromic RBCs.
All strongly favours IDA. You need to get done S. Iron, S. Ferritin, TIBC, Thalassamia test etc to search cause for IDA. Most common cause is nutritional deficiency. So consult your doctor and discuss these things.
