What Does The Following Blood Test Report Indicate?
I am 43 yrs, weight 71.8kg. Yesterday i check my sugar and lipid, result like 101 mg/dl (fasting) cholesterol 229 mg/dl triglycerides 173 mg/dl HDL CHOLESTEROL 47 mg/dl LDL cholestrol direct 147 mg/dl VLDL 35 mg/dl CHOL HDL Ratio 4.87 please help me, what can i do? is any thing serious?
Your sugar values are normal. Your cholesterol values are a bit above normal. You have to avoid fats and fried foods. You also need to do regular exercise. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can keep your cholesterol under check. At your age and borderline values of cholesterol, you just need lifestyle modification. There is no need to start anticholesterol medications at this point of time. Nevertheless, you will have to repeat your blood work after 1 or 2 months to see if there is a reduction in your cholesterol levels. Take care.
