What Does The Following Brain MRI Result Mean?

Hi I had a MRI of the brain without contrast! impression says Chiari 1 malformation and A small amount of microvascular gliosis that has progressed since 2008! Findings were A small area of microvascular gliosis adjacent to the occipital horn of the left lateral ventricle. One slightly smaller area adjacent to the posterior aspect of the right lateral ventricle. One tiny area is identified in the right frontal lobe with a third area identified in the posterior left just above the occipital horn of the left lateral ventricle. these latter two findings have developed since 08 but are doubtful significance given the time interval.

Welcome to health care magic.

1.Brainstem (medulla) compression and syringomyelia with associated symptoms and signs account for clinical presentation.
2.Generally asymptomatic until adulthood.
3.The gliotic changes what you are experiencing are possibly associated findings.
4.In this case you need to get an contrast MRI done - that will give what exactly the gliotic areas are vascular or lesions.
5.They are significant need to evaluate further and take action accordingly.

Good luck.
