What Does The Following Chest X-ray Report Suggest?

Hi, I will soon turn 63 years old. I had a chest Xray done, and it showed hyperinflation of both lungs. The X ray reported from doctor that Paucity of vascular markings is seen in the upper lungs most likely due to presence of there is blunting of the left costophrenic angles suggesting small left pleural effusion. The cardiomediastinal silhouette is normal. Small amount of calcification is seen in the aortic knob. There is degenerative change of the thracic spine. This was from first Chest X ray and I was told to repeat X Ray which I did on Sunday, and they stated it had improved My chest hurt a bit, but I was doing heavy lifting for which I have backed off doing so. I ran 3 miles at gym on Saturday, but otherwise feel ok. My doctor has me repeating Chest X ray in a month. I lead a very healthy lifestyle, no smoking, careful eating, exercise, no drinking. Do you have any suggestions. Thanks, CW

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The X-ray chest shows evidence of mild pleural effusion and calcification of aorta. I suggest you consult your pulmonologist to look for the cause of the pleural effusion. There is no other abnormality on X-ray chest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
