What Does The Following Chest X-ray Report Suggest?

My mother is having chest cray annually. And from 2011-2015 readings are all normal. 4 days coughing and her sputum has spot blood. Very miniman. And her chest xray result today s impression is SUBSEGMENTAL ATELECTASIS VERSUS FIBROID, LEFT LOWER LUNG. NO SIGNIFICANT INTERVAL CHANGE IN THE SMALL CALCIFIC NODULAR DENSITY IN THE RIGHT LOWER LUNG. LIKELY A GRANULOMA. Can you please explain this further to me. As her attending physician(family medicine) prescribed her an Anti-TB MEDS. What would be the best treatment and is it cancerous? Im feeling anxious on my mother s condition.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think 4 days history cough, mild blood in absence of fever, diabetes, steroid drugs, weight loss is not TB.

If she was not TB patient in past. Other thing is calcified lesion. So I will suggest Chest HRCT in this case to evaluate granuloma. There may be some bronchial adenoma as a cause for blood in sputum.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
