What Does The Following Chest X-ray Report Suggest?
Does the result of chest xray change when you drink milk prior to procedure? I had PTV 4yrs ago and completed the 6mos treatment. My last xray result is fibrozahed both apices. Im concerned getting denied of employment because of this. Thanks in advance.
Hello, Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic. I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns. First of all,Drinking milk prior to chest X-ray does not cause any change in the result. As per your history, you had pulmonary tuberculosis and you have completed the treatment.Generally an attack of tuberculosis cause some lesions in the lungs which later get calcified (calcium get deposited in the lung) and fibrosed. These changes become clearly visible in the X-rays and this why the report came as fibrohazed opacities in the lung apex. It takes very long time to clear the X-ray changes, and there is no treatment is available to make those findings disappear. In some middle east countries you may not get fitness if they detect a lung lesion in the X-rays .You can show them the treatment records which can save you sometimes. Hope I have answered your query. Wishing you good health.
Regards. Dr.Shinas
