General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello! thank you for your query. First of all, I would like to stress out that Chest x-ray results should be clinically correlated, meaning it should be connected with your symptoms or what you are feeling because they do not confirm a disease or diagnosis.
But to enlighten you a bit, right apical opacity means the right upper part of your lungs which should have been normally seen as "black" on the radiograph film is seen as a solid white color suggesting of an infection or mass inside your lungs. Common causes of this is Pulmonary Tuberculosis and tumor, but this is not confirmatory, usually in the PA view( a type of position or view which was done to you) the upper part of the lungs is not always clearly seen so they are suggesting an Apico-lordotic view(another type of position to view the lungs) to clearly see the upper part of the lungs if the opacity seen is really there.
Furthermore, if you have a prolonged cough(more than 2 weeks), sudden weight loss, chills at night, this may suggest a Pulmonary tuberculosis and further investigation or laboratory test is needed such as sputum exam. Again, please visit your physician for further assessment so as to accurately diagnose your disease.
I hope this helps! A feedback is greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
