What Does The Following Culture Report Of The Ear Canal Indicate?
I recently had a culture of my ear canal. I have externa otitus and prior cholesteotoma. The culture came back with the following information: Modern gram positive cocci, few Escherichia coli, many stapholococcus species, Coagulese negative. Can you tell me what this means and is it contagious? Thanks

It shows the presence of bacteria. It doesn’t mean it is contagious. We have done the test to find out the organism causing the disease and to choose the best antibiotics.
