What Does The Following Echocardiogram Report Indicate?
Hello, I m a 32 year old female with mosaic Turner Syndrome, post menopausal, on HRT. My recent echocardiogram showed an aortic root diameter of 3.1 cm with a tricuspid aortic valve, along with a mildly dilated left ventricle and left atrium. Is this serious? Does it require surgery? Will this condition get worse with time? My BMI is generally between 18 and 19, I used to run a lot but do more gentle exercise these days along with a lot of walking. I am an ex smoker, now vape and I occasionally consume alcohol. Thank you for your help and kind regards, Renata Berczy
Most of your echocardiogram is normal including your aortic root diameter, the dilated left ventricle and atrium indicated that your heart has been working harder to bump blood. It does not require surgery but I suggest you should check your blood preassure, see a cadiologist and continue checking over time as this can advance.
I hope this can help you.
