Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had an endoscopy and the findings were localized erythema, congestion and irregular Z line of the mucosa was noted in the gastroesophageal junction. these findings are compatible with esophagitis. cold forceps biopsies were performed for histology. And patchy ulceration, erythema and congestion of the mucosa with no bleeding wasa noted in the antrum. these findings are compatible with erosive gastritis. cold forceps biopsies were performed for histology. My question is . . . should I be worried at this point?
Firstly, the symptoms of the endoscopy report don't imply a serious issue. But you must wait for the Biopsy report. In case of erosive gastritis you must take 6 small meals, avoid milk and milk products. Take curd or yoghurt. Avoid taking red meat. Avoid smoking and drinking. Along with that take medication which includes a PPI, sucralfate syrup, and a gut sterilizer along with a pro biotic. Also do a H.pylori test along with your next endoscopy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sagarika Baruah, General & Family Physician
