Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What does the fecalysis test report show? My 2yr old son had a fecalysis test and the results are: his plus cell is 12-15/HPF His RBC is 8-12/HPF the bacteria result is Many and E.Histolytica cyst 1-2/HPF what does this mean? What is the result is it normal or not? he suffer for 2days stomach ache thankyou
The main ingredients of this test report are the presence of pus cells and cysts of entamoeba histolytica. It clearly means that your son is suffering from amoebiasis caused by entamoeba hystolytica which is an intestinal protozoa causing stomach ache.
A course of Metronidazole for 5 -7 days will be sufficient to treat this condition. I will suggest, therefore,to check with your primary care physician or a pediatrician.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma,
