What Does The Following Growth Scan Report Indicate?

Hi, my wife is 22, 5 6 , 48 kg. She had the 14 weeks growth scan today and the report says that her posterior placenta is still low and reaching the OS. What does it mean. She dont have any pain and bleeding till the date. Is there any problem or risk. Please suggest me

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Placenta position should be ideally anterior (front) and on the upper surface of the uterus.
In your wife's case, it is stating that it is presently attached on the back side and is low lying. Also it is closer to the os (opening of the cervical canal).
It may not cause much problems as of now as there is no symptoms associated.
However, it needs to be monitored carefully as the gestational age of the fetus increases. Any symptoms like pain or bleeding should seek medical attention promptly.
Depending on its position at term, a call needs to be taken weather to go in for normal vaginal delivery or to undergo cesarean section (c-section).
