What Does The Following Knee MRI Report Indicate?

I would like to know what s wrong with my knee. I had an MRI done a while back because i couldn t walk and the MRI said that i had torn the ligament that was holding my kneecap in place. Since then i have had physical therapy but now I m not in it, and i am currently having a problem with my knee because throughout the the day it starts hurting towards the bottom of my knee and behind it, it also pops throughout the day. Another thing is that a while ago i was looking at my knee and saw something pushing against my skin but it didn t hurt, because i was so curious i touched it and it popped back into my knee. I just want to know what s wrong with my knee?

Hello,

Knee pain, knee giving away and popping is likely due to the underlying ligament tear. Physical therapy alone has not resulted in complete recovery in your case.

At present, you will need to get a repeat MRI of the knee done to see the current status. Since physiotherapy alone did not help, it is best to consider surgery to repair the torn ligament at this point.

So, please be advised to follow up with an Orthopedician for detailed evaluation and management.

Meanwhile, avoid strain on the knee. Use knee brace to stabilize the knee. You may also take Advil or Tylenol for pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
