Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently had a follow up visit with physician regarding a recent mri of my knees. determination was absolutely that I have arthritis behind knee caps but most painfully I have torn meniscus in both knees. h Handling it with surgery. Question is that doctor mentioned hazy opaque or cloudy areas that could be indicative of some possibly blood disorder I believe but he felt it was rarely the case as they see it often. I could have blood work done to discern yes or no and put my mind at ease. I am not concerned except that I cannot recall what it was called. Believe it started with m . Could you help me recall what it was? I believe I will recognize if I see/hear it.
Medial meniscal tear bilateral is not common. You might be suffering from one of these conditions: 1) Rheumatoid arthritis 2) Osteoarthritis 3) Gouty arthritis 4) Polymyositis 5) Psoriatic arthritis 6) Reactive arthritis
Regarding that blood disorder, i think there may be bloody discharge in the joint called hemarthrosis. That will be seen as cloudy lesion on MRI knee. Any fluid in knee joint is known as knee joint effusion. It may be caused due to trauma to the joint, infection of joint and inflammation of joint.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
