What Does The Following Lab Test Result Suggest?

Hi , My husband got his lab result back and i can not understand the bold A 1000 IU/L for Hep Surface Antibody (HBsAb) The test result is as follows: - HEP B Surface Antigen (HBsAG): NEG - HEP B Surface Antibody (HBsAb): A 1000 IU/L (Consistent with immunity to HBV if HBsAg is non-reactive) Please advise

Hello,

1)HEP B surface antigen Negative means there is no infection of hepatitis B virus.

2)Presence of antibodies indicates there might have been an infection earlier. Plus there is immunity if the antibodies are non reactive. That means there is no infection plus there is immunity also.
