What Does The Following Lipid Profile Test Report Suggest?
I recently had cholesterol test. My HDL is 84. LDL is 125. Triglycerides are 116. Ratio is 2.8 Do you think ratio is more important than the fact that my total cholesterol is 231? Am afraid my Dr. will recommend a statin for me. Would rather not take one.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your cholesterol value little bit high. With lifestyle modification and daily active exercise can lead a decrease in lipid level and total cholesterol. So reduce weight by active exercise and take the low-fat diet.
If no improvement after a month then start a statin and consult a physician for examination
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
