What Does The Following Lipid Profile Test Report Suggest?

Yes, thank you. I am a female, 62 years old. My lipid panel results this week are the following. Cholesterol total is 231. Triglycerides 67. HDL 126. LDL 90. Chol/HDLC ratio 1.8. Non HDL cholesterol 105. I am active, weighing 130 pounds and 5 5 . I am alarmed my total number is this high and realize the HDL impacts that number, but should I be trying to lower anything, if so, how? Thank you.i

Hello,

Total cholesterol equal to HDL plus LDL plus 20% of triglycerides. Here you didn't mention your triglyceride levels. Probably your raised total cholesterol may be due to raised HDL. So don't worry. HDL is good cholesterol so don't worry.

Do regular exercise and yoga. Avoid high fat diet and alcohol. Eat green leafy vegetables and fruits. Check your cholesterol at least once in a year. Right now no medical treatment required so just lifestyle modifications is sufficient.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
