What Does The Following Pelvic Scan Report Suggest?

Doctor my mom age is 54 now. Her periods are irregular now say once in 2 months. Her period started this month with heavy blood clots its more than 9days now still in procees. We got the pelvic scan done ystdy report shows as Uterus- Bulky in size, measures 9.8x6.6x5.4 cm. Endometrium - 23mm Thickened. Ovaries - Right ovary 3.9x3.5 cms with simple cyst 3.4x2.7. Left ovary - 3.2x.1 Adnexa - clear, POD- Minimal free fluid present. Please advise is 23mm risk of malignancy, no family history with cancer background.

This endometrial thickness has to be further investigated.

This not necessarily malignant, but could be "endometrial hyperplasia". This condition occurs due to excess proliferation of the endometrial glands under the effect of estrogen.

You should consult your gynecologist for further assessment of the cause and nature of this abnormally thickened endometrium.
