What Does The Following Pelvic Ultrasound Result Indicate?

Hi I had a pelvic ultrasound which has shown up a subseptated uterus but / bicornate . Did not differentiate. I haven t tried to conceive . This was found accidentally. Should I be worried ? My GP said many ppl have normal births with this type of abnormality. Is it advisable to have surgery to remove The septum if possible before trying for a baby .. Or just try and hope I have no problems

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As the report is showing bicornuate uterus, it suggests developmental anomaly of paramesonephric ducts during fetal growth.

It is always recommended to undergo corrective surgery before planning to get baby.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
