Hi. I had 2 consecutive years of miscarriage. Diagnosis of my doctor is T/C APAS. I had 2 nephews who was diagnosed with ALL and Thromboplastin hence I was advised by my doctor as well to undergo peripheral blood smear. Here s the result smear shows microcytic, slightly hypochromic RBC with mild anisopoikilocytosis which consists of few microcytes and elliptocytes.

Hello,

The peripheral blood smear shows the presence of microcytic hypochromic red blood cells. This picture is suggestive of iron deficiency. I suggest you get iron studies and in case iron is low to start iron therapy after consulting your primary healthcare provider.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
