so I went in yesterday for my 1st u/s. based on last period i would be 6.5 weeks pg. The u/s only showed the sac which was empty and was measuring 5 weeks. This could be true and maybe I'm only 5 wk along and I am just behind a week or so? I just want to know what's going on. The wait is killing me! They took blood and I'll have those results back today and go back for another u/s on Monday. If it's still empty then, then they think it would be a blighted ovum and the baby stopped developing. She told me not to give up hope and it could definitely be too early and maybe only 5 wks. I keep going back over my dates...what do you think? We did Femara cycle with extra injectables and TIC 1st day of LP 10/15 Ovidrel trigger release shot 10/28 11/10 (13 DPO) Got a + on HPT 11/12 (15 DPO) + PG with betas = 64.9 11/15 (18 DPO) betas = 299 12/1 thought to be 6.5 wks pg (34 DPO) first u/s only saw only the sac, but sac measuring only 5 wks betas = get results back today I go back for u/s Monday 12/6...could the calculations really be off?? Because Implantation could have taken place really late?? anywhere between 10/29-11/9? I got the + HPT on 11/ 10 though? I am so confused, anyone ...advice please???
1.The report suggest there is a gestational sac corresponding to the 5 weeks gestation. 2.At this age of gestation non visualisation of the yolk sac and foetal pole is normal in cases. 3.In this case you need to get a followup scan after 10 day to 2 weeks time by which you can get the actual viability of the pregnancy. 4.In an normal case by 5.5 weeks by trans vaginal route one has to see the heart beat of the foetus and by 6.5 weeks trans abdominally. 5.So still no need to get worried, you have to wait and get the followup scan done and confirm the viability.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
