Hi doctors, appreaciate your comments on the following semen analysis result. Thanks Appearance: Fibrin clots seen (meaning?) Liquefaction: Not significant. Consistency: Viscous Volume: 3.0ml PH: 8.1 Concentration: 92 million/ml Overall Motility: 40% a) Progressive Motility: 33% b) Non Progressive: 7 c) Immotile: 60 Total Sperm Count: 276.0 million/ Total Motile Count: 110.4 million/ Normal Morphology: 6% a) Head defect: 58% b) Neck, mid-piece defect: 30% c) Tail defects: 10% d) Cytoplasmic Droplets: 0% e) Pinheads: 2% Viability: 40% Debris: ++ve WBC (X10/ml): Aggregation: -ve Thanks.
Fibrin clots- fibrin clots, the semen has areas that have bound together/clotted Viscous- thick
The concentration and sperm count are good, at least 40% of sperm should be motile (moving)- so this is good as well.
The morphology (appearance of the sperm), is low though it is just above the cut of limit. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that it should be above 4%, yours is 6% so it is just normal.
