What Does The Following Semen Analysis Report Suggest?
Hi I had a test of my semen and here is the result Pus cell-Numerous Yeast cell-Nil Epithelial Cell- Nil RBS- Nil Sperm count-24 million/ml And the comment is Sluggish. Motility active- 30 Non motile 70 (50-80)% Morphology: Abnormal form present. Am I in any kind of problem? Please doc,am so confused, I need a clear explanation and possible way of correcting it if there is any danger. I need have a baby soonest.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. The following conclusions can be inferred based on the semen analysis report you have enclosed. 1. Sperm count with 24 million/ml can be considered as fairly normal. 2. Sperm morphology shows presence of abnormal forms. 3. Sperm motility with 30% active forms is less when compared to normal. 4. Presence of numerous pus cells indicates the there is infection in the genital tract. Hence the fertility factor at this stage is less than normal, probably due to the presence of infection. You need to take an appropriate course of antibiotics to overcome the same. Following the completion of the course of medication, kindly get a repeat semen analysis done after 3 weeks to look for the improvement. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
