What Does The Following Semen Analysis Suggest?

Volume: 2.5 Viscosity: normal Total sperm count /ejaculate :195*10^6 Sperm count /ml : 78*10^6 ml Motility :38% Rapid: 4% Moderate :20% Slow : 14% Morphology Normal 22% Abnormal :78% Head defects :32% Mid peice defect34% Tail defects :12% RBC: nil WBC : 2-3 /hpf After wash result Motality :98% Rapid 28% Moderate 56% Slow 13% Sperm concentration: 29*10^6 /ml Kindaly tell me about my report ? Hi,

The following can be inferred based on the semen analysis report you have furnished.

1. Volume is normal.
2. Total sperm count and seperm count per ml is normal.
3. Sperm motility with 38% is far below normal.
4. Sperm morphology is showing abnormal forms being high with 78%. It seems that the fertility index is lower.

However, after washout, there is an improvement in motility. This may be used if you are going for assisted reproductive procedure like intra-uterine insemination (IUI) or invitro fertilisation (IVF).

Otherwise, kindly take medications containing L-carnitine, Alpha lipoic acid, Lecithin, CoQ10, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Selenium and Zinc, which will provide appropriate nutrients for sperm maturity and functioning.

You need to take it for 3 months and get semen analysis done again to look for the improvement.
