What Does The Following Sperm Analysis Report Indicate?

Hello, Doctor. My partner is 31 and we are trying for a baby. I am ok. His sperm analysis came back this way: Total sperm count: 84 mil. Sperm concentration: 42 mil/ml. Sperm volume: 2ml. Normal morphology :4%. Progressive motility 20 +5= 25. Non progressive: 14. Immobile: 61. Velocity: 42,7 microm/sec. Considering these numbers, can we conceive naturally? Thank you very much!

Hello.
Thank you for contacting HCM.

I have gone through your question and I will try my best to give you a satisfactory answer.
Your husband's report have morphology and motility on the lower cut off limit for normal semen analysis report. But this does not mean that you can not conceive naturally as it depends on the all the aspects combined together i.e of your husband's report. It may take a little longer than normal to conceive but it is possible.

As the sperms take around 3 months approximately to develop i would suggest to maintain a healthy life style to increase the quality and quantity of the sperms by changes in routine such as:
maintain a healthy weight, limiting consumption of alcohol and cigarettes, consuming diet consisting of eggs; cheeses and fish along with vegetables more particularly tomatoes, lettuce , carrots, spinach etc.

I would advise you to repeat the test after 3-6 months. In case if you are unable to conceive after more than 1 year of unprotected sex please consult your local physician for further course of treatment.

I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns.
Wishing you good health.
