Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
As of a few days ago I have noticed a few veins on the side of my stomach heading toward my abdomen and one from my navel headed toward my abdomen as well. I have noticed them prior but they seem to be much more pronounced. I have had liver problems in the past but all has been well for the last 5 years. My Gastroenterologist performed an EGD procedure 9/1/16. Findings: Esophagus, Mucosa - Localized abnormal mucosa with no bleeding. Benign finding, just distal to the UES. Duodenum, Mucosa - multiple cold forceps biopsies were performed for histology. Is this related to esophageal variances in your opinion? I am really worried. especially if it a serious liver problem.
Yes it can be related to the liver problem, chronic liver diseases there is prominent blood vessels leading towards stomach. You must get your self evalvated by a hematologic.
