Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
MICROSCOPY: - Smear shows moderate cellularity. - Superficial and intermediate squames are seen. - Endocervical cells are present. - Dysplastic or malignant cells are not seen. - Trichomonas, monilia or herpes infection is not present. - Moderate leucocytic infilterate is seen in the background. CONCLUSION: CERVICAL SMEAR: - ACUTE CERVICITIS.
The pap smear report is suggestive of acute cervicitis. Cervicitis is inflammation of the cervix (i.e. the portion of the uterus which protrudes downward into the vagina). It needs to be clinically correlated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
