i had consulted with endocrnologisy on 2013, As per further test i got my result as below; -Free T4 = 0.84 NG/DL -TSH = 13.2616 -Anti- TPO = more than 1000 IU/ml Base on above test results, its concluded as hypothyroid Then - doctor suggested me to take - thyronorm (50 mg) for first 15 days & then advise me to take (100mg) for next 45 days - & thryowell too in the morning after food. Hello,

The lab tests are suggestive of hypothyroidism (Hashimoto's thyroiditis). Thyroid peroxidase is an enzyme normally found in the thyroid gland that plays an important role in the production of thyroid hormones.

Hashimoto's thyroiditis is an auto immune disease due to an increased production of abnormal antibodies Anti thyroid peroxidase (Anti-TPO) which result in thyroid hormone deficiency.

1. Thyronorm (Levothyroxine) is a thyroid hormonal supplement commonly prescribed to treat hypothyroidism.

Since, food, certain medications, & supplements may affect your ability to absorb Thyronorm, it should be taken in the morning on an empty stomach with water, at least one-half hour before any food is eaten.

2. Thyrowel capsule which contains Iron, Selenium, Zinc, Folic acid, Vitamin B12 and L-Tyrosine is a dietary supplement indicated in management of micro nutrient deficiencies in thyroid disorder.

If taken together, it may reduce the absorption of Thyrornorm so Thyrowell should be taken at least 4 hours apart from Thyronorm or 2 hrs after taking the food. So, continue taking the medications as prescribed and get your thyroid function tests done as advised by your doctor to check the efficacy of the treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
