What Does The Following Ultrasonographic Report Suggest?
Hi Doctor My father s age is 60 years ,today he tested through ultra sonographic examination of the lower abdomen. This report shows prostate measures 45*35*49 mm in size approx weight 40 gm .Capsule intact. Echo pattern is relatively homogenous. Median lobe bulge is seen.Residual volume is 138 ML.USG findings reveal grade 2 prostatomegaly with significant residual volume. Please advise
There is enlarged prostate and as the median lobe is obstructing the tract that's why there is insufficient emptying of the bladder causing high amounts of residual urine and risk of recurrent UTI.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
